By involving the Trust in the renovation and decoration of various areas, the hospital has succeeded in using colour more effectively to influence the well-being of patients and the public. In the Pediatrics ward, bright colours were used to add a feeling of fun while Post Natal areas were designed to create a restful ambiance. The Trust’s input in the care of the elderly unit resulted in a radical shift from the institutional colours traditionally associated with hospitals in favour of an exciting combination of both bold and calming colours.
