European Music in Hospitals project 2006

Waterford Healing Arts Trust partnered with Musique et Santė (France) and ARTS for HEALTH (UK) to share experience in the field of music in hospitals.

Three professional musicians from each participating country were selected to partake in innovative residencies in Waterford, England and France. Each residency explored the role of music through direct engagement with patients in Paediatric Units to Geriatric, Alzheimer, Neo-natal, Post-natal and Renal Dialysis units. Musicians visited the Regional Hospital, St. Patrick’s, St. Ottteran’s and Pine Grove Day Care Centre. The Irish and English musicians were mentored by the Musique et Santė musicians through each stage of the residencies.
