Drink Talk

In 2005, the Waterford Healing Arts Trust in partnership with the Health Promotion Department and the Waterford Substance Misuse Team commissioned artist Bernie Leahy to produce an artwork which invited people to reflect on how alcohol has affected their life. The resultant artwork is a series of textile panels which hangs in the ‘main street’ of Waterford Regional Hospital. Attached to these panels are anonymous extracts from letters written by people who have been affected by alcohol abuse.
We would like to extend an invitation to people who have been affected by alcohol to send us their stories. We will continue to attach anonymous extracts of these to the Drink Talk panels over the coming years in order to keep the artwork dynamic and constantly evolving.
